Finally, the wound is closed with self-dissolving sutures that do not require removal and is protected with a specialized dressing.
Following the procedure, it’s important to rest for a few days and avoid rapid or strenuous movements—though strict bed rest is not required. Depending on the scope of the treatment, most patients can return to sedentary work within two weeks. For jobs that require prolonged standing, a recovery period of around three weeks is recommended.
As with lipedema surgery, wearing compression garments is essential after skin tightening. These garments support proper wound healing and help the tightened skin conform smoothly to your body’s new contours. Compression should be worn continuously—day and night—for approximately six weeks. During this time, physically demanding activities, sports, as well as the use of nicotine and alcohol, should be avoided to promote optimal healing.
